Foundation

The Foundation of the Société Internationale d'Urologie (FSIU), a charitable organization founded in 1998 and based in Canada, is dedicated to supporting education, research and paramedical support services in the area of urologic diseases worldwide.

The initial capital for the creation of the Foundation came from the SIU. The Foundation has a Board of Directors derived initially from the SIU, and has its own budget and decision-making autonomy. There is ongoing continuity in Board membership between the two organizations.

Foundation goals:
  1. To disseminate information detailing the goals and objectives of the Foundation to the SIU membership and to prospective donors.
  2. To develop and implement a comprehensive education programme on urologic diseases for patients, the public and other health care professionals.
  3. To raise funds through corporate, private and public donations for research, education and awareness programmes directed toward urologic conditions.
  4. To expand research scholarships directed toward the prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment and cure outcomes of urologic disease.
  5. To develop a lay Board of Volunteers.
