SIU@U Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. How much is registration? What if I'm not an SIU Member yet?

Registration is free! In order to ensure high-quality urological education is accessible to all, SIU 2020 – Virtual has no charge, regardless of member status. However, registration is still required. The link to register will be available in the coming days.

 2. I’ve already registered and paid for the live event; what happens to my payment? Can I defer to 2021? 

SIU will offer full refunds to anyone who registered and paid for the SIU 2020 live event. You will also have the option to defer fee to the 2021 Congress, or donate the fees to the Foundation of the Société Internationale d'Urologie. All refunds will be processed automatically to the credit card used to pay the original registration. Contact us at congress@siu-urology.org for more details. 

3. Will I be refunded for hotel costs?

As the SIU did not provide an official housing bureau, participants should contact the their hotel/lodging directly to cancel reservations.

4. Will I be refunded for airline tickets? 

The SIU will not refund individual airline ticket costs. Please contact your airline directly regarding ticket cancellations. If you purchased travel insurance, please contact your provider for information and next steps.

5. Will programming be offered in my timezone?

The SIU 2020 Scientific Programme Chairs are adapting the previously-planned programming to ensure that as much of the excellent scientific sessions can be captured and broadcast for our international community. The broadcast schedule takes into account various timezones around the world and will run three blocks of programming throughout the day to ensure, as much as possible, there is something to watch, no matter where you are!

6. What if I don’t have time to watch October 10-11?

Don’t worry, all broadcast sessions will remain on the SIU@U platform for 30 days post-event. Following this, these recordings will be made available on SIU Academy. Check out recordings from previous SIU Congresses by clicking here.

 7. What happens to my abstract submission?

Abstracts for SIU 2020 will be reviewed and accepted presentations will be presented as interactive ePosters on SIU Academy. If you would like your submission to be considered for best poster, please submit a 3-slide presentation with 2-minute audio for consideration via the abstract submission site. Abstracts highlighted by reviewers will be presented as audio ePosters. If you had submitted prior to June 9, the programme office has/will contact you with these details directly.
