14th Libyan Urology Association Conference: A Platform for Advancement

The 14th Libyan Urological Association Conference (LUA23) was held December 7 to 9, 2023, at the Waqaduqu Hall, Sirte, Libya.  Held over three days in a vibrant atmosphere charged with enthusiasm and a commitment to innovation, this conference provided a platform for urologists, researchers, health care professionals, and industry experts to converge, exchange ideas, and explore the latest advancements in urological care.  About 270 urologists from across Libya and from the rest of the world participated in the scientific program. The first day (Thursday, December 7) was dedicated to live surgery workshops (laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, penile prosthesis surgery, ThuFLEP, PCNL, and urodynamic).

In addition to more than 70 presentations by Libyan doctors, the program included an SIU session with renowned international speakers, including Professor Sanjay Kulkarni from India, who presented on complex pelvic fracture urethral injury, Professor Vincenzo Ficarra from Italy, who presented on surgical strategies for robotic partial nephrectomy, and Professor Seth Lerner from the United States, who presented on BCG unresponsive NMIBC.

We look forward to continuing and strengthening our collaboration with the SIU, and we hope to see you again at our next Libyan Urology Association Conference (LUA24) in Tobruk City.
