The purpose of this global survey is to identify and analyze global variations in the technical aspects of microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy, including anesthesia, equipment, operative technique, and perioperative management, as well as to document complication rates, surgeons’ training backgrounds, and expert recommendations. The findings will help highlight areas of consensus and controversy, providing a foundation for future evidence-based guidelines aimed at optimizing surgical quality and improving patient outcomes worldwide.
The survey contains 65 questions, with respondents selecting either a single correct response or multiple answers as appropriate. Depending on your answers, you may not need to complete all questions. The estimated completion time is approximately 25 minutes. It is essential that participants complete the entire survey, as incomplete responses will be automatically discarded. All data will be anonymized in accordance with sound research practices before analysis, interpretation, or publication.
Eligibility: This survey can be completed by Urologists and Andrologists—both GAF members and non-members—who perform subinguinal varicocelectomy in their practice, regardless of the indication (infertility, pain, or other clinical reasons) and irrespective of the use of optical magnification (microscope, surgical loupes, or no magnification). While all qualified GAF members are invited to participate, we also encourage you to share and promote the survey within your professional networks and with local and national societies.
Respondents interested in manuscript writing and authorship credit should answer the designated question at the end of the survey.
