Hospital del Trabajador is a 50-year-old, 250-bed Trauma and Rehabilitation facility focused on treatment of working accidents and general trauma. Our Department of Urology collects wide experience in the management of genitourinary trauma, both acute and the treatment of long-term sequels, like erectile dysfunction and incontinence. Additionally, we specialize in all areas of genitourinary reconstruction and management of spinal cord patients, with emphasis in urethral and bladder reconstruction.

The Urology program at Universidad CES is dedicated to producing new knowledge, developing technology and innovation, promoting social awareness and training human resources in the field. The program has conducted studies in clinical simulation and innovation, care models, technological surveillance, and biomedical devices, all carried out with high standards of good clinical practices in research. Notably, the program’s strength lies in sacral neuromodulation, with a continuous generation of scientific evidence for decision-making and active participation in the international consensus on best practices. The program’s excellence in resident training is demonstrated by the top scores and first places achieved at the national level in the American Urology Association exam, which is conducted within the framework of the resident course of the Colombian Society of Urology in recent years.

As a tertiary university hospital we serve a large population exceeding 20 million people. Urolithiasis is one of the most common diseases in our region and our institute is fully equipped with all armamentarium that provides optimum management for different stone categories. We have expertise in endourology and there are ongoing research projects concerning all aspects of stone management including PCNL, URS, ESWL. The operative capacity in our institution per month will allow the trainees to attend 60 cases of ESWL, 30 cases of URS and 40 cases of PCNL including difficult cases e.g. staghorn, malrotated and pediatric cases.

The Department of Urology at Hamburg University Medical Center covers a number of clinical science topics, as well as basic and translational science in alliance with its partnering on and off-campus institutions. Research interests include urological oncology (urothelial cancer - complication reporting, biomarkers, clinical outcomes research; renal carcinoma - biomarkers, treatment sequences), reconstructive urology (tissue engineering, clinical outcomes research (buccal mucosa and mesh grafts, Peyronie´s disease, artificial urinary sphincter devices), functional urology (determinants of treatment success in benign prostate surgery (HoLEP)).

The Institute offers super-specialized tertiary care services in Medical, Surgical, and Radiation Oncology, streamlined into dedicated Site-Specific teams. Super Specialists at RGCIRC practice an organ-specific multi-disciplinary approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment, with the Tumor Board acting as a second opinion clinic for cases that are more critical than others.
We use front-line technology that helps accurate identification of each patient's unique cancer and planning of treatment for the best possible results. The first hospital in India to begin robotic surgery for cancer patients, the first hospital in India to install a true beam for precision radiotherapy, and the first hospital in India to set up a molecular laboratory.

UROKUL has maintained a comprehensive database of over 6000 patients' parameters since 2010, collaborates with international fellows to support their research and offer in-house pathology and microbiology services to provide lab parameters. The hospital has an ethics committee to ensure ethical standards in research. Currently, it’s conducting a study on infections in lichen sclerosus. Fellows can continue their research after returning to their respective countries.
